CHQ writes to Director (HR) in response to the appeal and advisory to BSNL officers and executives:
'But it may not be out of context to say here that no officer or executive will intentionally take a decision to seek legal remedy, given the cost, time and mental agony connected with it. No one will file a case just for the fun of it. If the cases are properly analysed, in most of the cases the concerned Executives would have been really aggrieved either by his genuine plea not being accepted or by arbitrary, and deliberate violations of BSNL Transfer Policy by the Circle and SSA administrations.' CBDT EXTENDS THE DATE FOR FILING INCOME TAX RETURN FOR ASSESSMENT YEAR 2016- 2017 FROM JULY 31ST TO AUGUST 5TH, 2016 :
As per provisions of Section 139(1) of Income-tax Act 1961, Central Board of Direct Taxes extends the due date for filing returns of Income for Assessment Year 2016- 2017 from 31st July, 2016 to 5th August,2016 , in the case of taxpayers throughout India who are liable to file their Income-tax by 31st July, 2016. This extension is given in order to avoid any inconvenience to the taxpayers while making payment of taxes pertaining to returns of income for Assessment Year 2016- 2017 by 31st July, 2016 due to reports of Bank strike on 29th July,2016(Friday) and 31st July,2016 (Sunday), being a Bank-Holiday (PIB)29.07.2016:

GS met Sr. GM (Pers) today and has discussed the following issues:1.Permanent transfer to field units for willing CSS cadre staff.
2.Cancellation of transfer order not issued by competent authority.
3.Promotion to DGM (T) on adhoc basis - case of a small number of executives who were promoted to STS grade in 2010, who were seniors prior to the pronouncements of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in C.A.4389/2010 but have become juniors due to revised provisional seniority list.
4.Promotion to DGM (Regular) as agreed earlier.
5.Extension of all facilities to those who are looking after higher posts, applicable to the higher posts both in BSNL Corporate Office and field units.
In all these cases we have placed the arguments advanced in our letters before Sr.GM (Pers). We have requested favourable consideration in all the issues.

'Although it was agreed that the matter will be considered positively, no promotion to DGM (T) grade on regular basis has been ordered even after lapse of four months. 'After pronouncements of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in C.A.4389/2010, the seniority lists have been revised (Provisionally) and as a consequence they have become junior and may not be under consideration for promotion to DGM (T) on adhoc basis for the remaining number of vacancies which are yet to be filled up. Once these vacancies are filled up they will also loose the opportunity to ‘look-after’ the duties of DGM (T). This will lead to an embarrassing situation where they will have to work as STS under those who were previously their juniors and worked under them.
