  • 30.05.2010: Did Telecom Biggies form cartel for 3G bidding?: 'The circles won by Tata Teleservices and Aircel are almost altogether different and if combined lead to a pan-India presence. Recent Income-Tax reports which were leaked out, speculated ownership links between TTSL and Aircel. Another visible trend which may spark off cartelization allegations, is an analysis of the circles won by Bharti Airtel and Vodafone.   • 25.05.2010: AIBSNLOA GROWS FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH: With all eyes watching, the Mega Event has taken place today with a huge gathering. Defying unprecedented intimidation, coercion, spreading of false propaganda and braving physical block by 30 odd 'gate keepers' at the entrance, hundreds of Executives assembled today in the Telephone Bhawan, Kolkata and have resolved to join and strengthen AIBSNLOA. The meeting decided to float the Circle Body in a few days. More comrades who could not make it to the meeting have conveyed their support and have assured to join AIBSNLOA.  Photos of the event will be published shortly.

  • 25.05.2010:JTO (Telecom) seniority: BSNL has endorsed DoPT O.M.dated 3.3.2008, clarifying on its earlier O.M. dated 3.7.1986 that 'while the inter-se-seniority of direct recruits and promotees is to be fixed on the basis of the rotation of quota of vacancies, the year of availability, both in the case of direct recruits as well as promotees, for the purpose of rotation and rotation of seniority, shall be the actual year of appointment after declaration of results/selection and completion of pre-appointment formalities as prescribed.  View endorsement for information and necessary action by Circles/Units...

  • 24.05.2010: CHQ writes to CMD BSNL on Anomaly in pay fixation in revised IDA scales for JTOs/JAOs/Assistants etc. with particular reference to JTO Batches 2006 & 2007: 'This will result in a huge gap between the pay drawn by the officers in JTO Batch 2005 on one side and the JTO Batches 2006 & 2007 on the other side. The disparity or difference in pay will have a cumulative effect due to the fact that the increments as well as Dearness Allowance are calculated as a percentage of the basic pay, resulting in widening of the gap with time.'   • 23.05.2010:BSNL invites bids for 5.5 million GSM lines. Excludes Chinese firms: BSNL has invited bids for acquiring 5.5 million lines to expand GSM operations from 3 foreign vendors, barring Chinese, who had participated in the earlier 93 million line tender which was cancelled. The decision to this effect was taken at a special board meeting of the PSU on Friday, senior officials said. The three vendors are Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens Network and Alcatel-Lucent, they added.   • 18.05.2010:DoT may reject TRAI's 2G pricing recommendation: 'According to Trai calculations, Bharti, which is on top of the list of operators holding excess frequency, may have to pay Rs 3,498 crore for the additional spectrum. It is followed closely by BSNL, which has to pay Rs 3,040 crore, Vodafone Essar may be charged Rs 2,849 crore and MTNL Rs 2,669 crore.' Read More...

  • 14.05.2010:CHQ writes to Secretary, DoT on Non-settlement of the Pay Scales for JTOs/equivalent and SDEs/ equivalent cadres in BSNL– simmering unrest among Executives: 'Now with the settlement of the revised IDA pay scales of the non-Executive cadres of BSNL, these are the two groups of Executives who alone have been made to wait for their just pay scales.   • 11.05.2010: Below Benchmark gradings in ACRs prior to the reporting period 2008-09: We had reported on 15.04.2010 that DoP&T has circulated its decision that if an employee is to be considered for promotion in a future DPC and his ACRs prior to 2008-09 which would be reckonable for his next promotion, before such ACRs are placed before the DPC, the concerned employee will be given a copy of the relevant ACR for his representation, if any, within 15 days of such communication.   • 08.05.2010:AIBSNLOA UP East Circle was formed today in a well attended meeting held in Lucknow.  The meeting was addressed by Com.V.P.Arya, GS, Com.J.N.Mishra, President, MP Circle and Com.G.P.Patel, Secretary MP Circle.  Com.Pradeep Kevlani, JTO (E), Com.Krishna Charan, SDE and Com.Arun Kumar, SDE have been elected as President, Secretary and Finance Secretary respectively of UP East Circle.  Senior Comrades Atul Sharma, DGM (Vig) and S.C.Tiwari, DGM (Mktg) will represent the Circle as CWC members.

  • 04.05.2010:Non-filling of SC quota as per post based roster system in promotion under 2/3rd quota from JTO(T) to SDE (T) by the DPC held in 2009: In an application filed by Com.Sant Kumar (who is our Himachal Pradesh Circle Secretary) and others, Chandigarh CAT is today reported to have directed BSNL to have the matter reviewed by a DPC before 20th May 2010.

  • 03.05.2010:CHQ writes to CMD on Consideration of requests for modifications and permitting requests for declining promotion from CAO to DGM Telecom Finance on adhoc basis: 'We shall be very much thankful if the above facts are considered in their true perspective and request for modifications in postings are considered in deserving cases on the basis of merits. The officers who ever tend to decline the promotion may be permitted to do so as is available in the Government rules, wherein they lose opportunity of further promotion for one year.'
