  • 29.11.2011:Addenda to modifications in scheme and syllabus for LICE for promotion to PA, PS and Rajbasha Adhikari grades: BSNL has issued separate addenda to its orders dated 24.11.2011 modifying the scheme and syllabus for LICE for promotion to Personal Assistant, Private Secretary and Rajbasha Adhikari grades, stating that the modified scheme and syllabus will be applicable for LICE to be conducted in the future only.

  • 28.11.2011:Relieving of repatriated ITS officers: Following a reported directive from DoT that 33% of the non-optee ITS Group A officers in each circle/unit should have been relieved in a few days, the Circles have started relieving more ITS officers on repatriation to DoT.

DoT is said to be determined in completing the process within a specified time frame.

  • 14.11.2011:BSNL launches Bharat Berry push e-mail service: 'State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) Monday tied up with Bharat Berry Technologies to provide push e-mail services to all its mobile subscribers of all circles in India. Push e-mail provides an always on capability by which new e-mails are actively transferred. The mobile communication service Bharat Berry works with most of the mobile phones and provides an advanced push mail with over the air backup of the user's contacts, tasks, calendar and notes.'   • 10.11.2011:3G roaming deals among telcos to have negative impact on govt revenue - DoT: 'Earlier this year, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar and Idea Cellular had entered into 3G roaming alliances that enabled them to offer high-end data services on a pan-India basis (except Orissa). Bharti, Vodafone and Idea had won 3G airwaves in 13, 9 and 11 circles, respectively, and their roaming pacts ensured that customers of these companies can access high-speed data services even in the regions where they don't hold 3G airwaves. Aircel has a similar deal with Tata Teleservices and offers 3G services in six circles using the latter's airwaves.' Read More...

  • 04.11.2011:Repatriation of ITS Group A officers back to DoT: DoT has issued orders directing all ITS officers who have opted for government service and those who have not given any option and those who have given conditional option to report to DoT immediately after being relieved formally by BSNL, by reporting to Sr.DDG (TEC), Telecom Engineering Centre, New Delhi with a copy to the Cadre Controlling Authority and Director (HR), BSNL.
