A brief report on CWC Meeting held at Lucknow:

The CWC meeting of AIBSNLOA was held in city of Nawab Lucknow at Hotel Galaxy International in a very grand manner. CWC meeting was attended by all the CSs, CPs and CWC members. AIBSNLOA UP (East) Circle has hosted the Central Working Committee Meeting of AIBSNLOA at Lucknow on 21st and 22nd September 2018, marking another milestone in the history of AIBSNLOA. Comrades of UP(East) Circle led by Circle President Com R.P. Singh & Circle Secretary Com. D.C. Gupta, assisted by Com. K.C. Tripathi FS & Com. K. C. Yadav, VP, Com. Gautam and guided by Com. P. C. Rastogi AGS, AIBSNLOA, had made excellent arrangements for the meeting.

Meeting commenced with Flag hosting and lighting of lamp by Com. President and Com. GS. Com. K. Rajasekaran, CHQ President, in his opening remarks laid the roadmap touching all the important issues pertaining to BSNL Executives and appealed to all the CWC members for active participation in deliberations and making this CWC meeting successful. After opening remarks by Com. President, UP (E) President and CS welcomed the participants. Speaker after speaker exposed the failure of the so called Majority and support Executive Associations which have belied the expectations of those who had voted for them. The two associations, which are now formally recognised as Majority and Support associations but were enjoying facilities and patronage of Management for nearly 12 years since the year 2004, were in for criticism for their inability to settle vital issues viz. replacement of E1A and E2A scales by E2 and E3 pay scales, CPSU Cadre Hierarchy & Implementation of 3rd PRC in BSNL and for their role in making the simple issues more complex by taking different stands at different points of time. The meeting reiterated and approved the stand taken by AIBSNLOA on these issues and urged the CHQ to pursue these issues relentlessly.

General Secretary, in his speech explained how AIBSNLOA has effectively played its role after membership verification, remaining the third association in membership. He narrated how majority associations failed to resolve any issue but AIBSNLOA has succeeded in resolving various issues related to promotions in various cadres, settlement of individual grievances of its members, Financial up-gradation up to E6 scale to DGM (Adhoc), role of AIBSNLOA in revision of pay scale of ADOL, superannuation benefit to BSNL recruited employees etc.

The General Secretary report received unanimous approval of the meeting. Based on the views expressed by the participants during the lively deliberations, many resolutions were passed unanimously. Com.P.K.Mohanty, veteran union leader of DoT/BSNL passes away:

Com.P.K.Mohanty, one of the founder members of AIBSNLOA, first Circle Secretary of AIBSNLOA Odisha Circle and a member of the AIBSNLOA Advisory Body breathed his last today early morning after a brief period of illness, in a Bangalore hospital. He was a veteran trade union leader both in DoT and BSNL era. He earned friends with his pleasant personality and helping attitude. As Circle Secretary, Odisha he hosted the first ever Central Working Committee meeting of AIBSNLOA in the year 2010. We have lost a senior and experienced leader. We deeply mourn his demise and convey our condolences to the bereaved family.
