04.11.2010:BSNL adds 2.5 million mobile subscribers
in October: BSNL today said
it has managed to add a whopping 2.5 million mobile subscribers in October,

telecom PSU, which was lagging behind private telcos in terms of subscriber
additions, has garnered over two million subscriber every month from August till
October, Minister of State for IT and Communications Sachin Pilot told reporters
here. The new subscriber additions came mainly on the back of new tariff plans
introduced by BSNL, Pilot said while launching the 'Pyari Jodi' plan which
offers free mobile with every landline connection of BSNL. BSNL had added only
1.08 million subscribers in July. However, subscriber additions picked up from
August when it added 2.2 million users. BSNL added 2.3 million users in

02.11.2010:Our stand on time bound functional
promotion as offered during absorption vindicated:
Right from the day of formation of AIBSNLOA, we have taken a consistent stand
that the BSNL Executive Promotion Policy is blatant violation of the terms and
conditions offered to us while exercising option for absorption in BSNL which
provided for 'promotion upto SG JAG level every four to six years' without
linking to post and 'post-based promotion above SG JAG level.'
[view AIBSNLOA CHQ's First Circular
dated 12.2.2008]. It is reliably
learnt that Principal CAT, New Delhi, while disposing off an application,
(Com.G.P.Patel, our Circle Secretary, Madhya Pradesh, initiated the efforts and
is an applicant in the case) has ordered that BSNL should implement time bound
functional promotions for its Executives within 3 months as has been envisaged
in the Terms and Conditions for absorption, thus vindicating our stand.
