  • 27.06.2011:CAT Chennai disposes off case against JTO to SDE promotion:Chennai CAT has disposed off an application in OA 1358/2010 filed against promotion from JTO (T) to SDE (T) under 67% quota, treating it closed as infructuous. However it has directed that quota for SC/ST be ensured and relaxation given if needed and that such a drill should be completed within six months. Another case in OA 36/2011 is still pending with next hearing on 13.7.2011.

  • 01.06.2011: BSNL to invite fresh bids for 15 mn GSM lines:State-run telecom major Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has decided to cancel its existing tender for 5.5 million GSM lines and invite fresh bids for 15 million GSM lines in June. The new tender is estimated to be around Rs 5,000-6,000 crore. Following the decision of an equipment provider firm, which did not participate in the bidding process, to move court, BSNL decided to cancel the tender and issue a new one to overcome capacity constraints, a senior official from BSNL told Business Standard.(BS)
